Just want to say thanks to Carmen and Alan for meeting up yesterday at 3dR to diagnose a radio modem and APM issue. If you are ever down at SEFSD.org on the weekends and see me say HI. I'd be more…Continue

Mission Planner crash after W8 Updates

Looks like after applying the May 14th firmware upgrade to my W8 Surface Pro Mission Planner is crashing. I ended up doing a system rollback before May 14th then upgraded with other updates EXCLUDING the firmware upgrade and things are fine.  When I Google the error in the logs the best thing that I could find was something about OpenGL and the Video Drivers. I'm attaching the log file in hopes that maybe some of the Dev's can check it out and lend a helping hand. If anyone else is running a…See More

Skyhunter Param File

Posted on January 16, 2013 at 12:00pm 4 Comments

I've been flying the new Skyhunter made by FPV Model with the APM on board. I figured I'd share the param file since I didn't see it listed in the repository.. I've had many comments that the Skyhunter looks like it's 'hunting' when the APM is in full autonomous mode. I'd love to see what other tweaks the community can do to the parameters and the…

GPS case?

Posted on December 22, 2012 at 3:30pm 14 Comments

So far 3dR puts out some cases for the APM2.x. However I haven't seen any cases for the GPS. So far I've ripped the battery backup off the newer GPS and ripped the module apart with the older module. Sadly I don't think this is covered under warranty. As much as I'd like to say I'm 'hard' on equipment, this is just normal flying.. Anyone have any suggestions on a GPS case for these…

RcTimer cable blunder becomes a 3dr modem + Mini mOSD solution?

Posted on December 3, 2012 at 10:00am 8 Comments

I decided to pick up one of those RCTimer APM boards a few weeks ago to help support free trade. This was before 3dR lowered the cost of the APM board. The kit complete comes with their clone of the APM, Radio Modem, and GPS. The kit arrived and I noticed many things are alike. Including the silk screening…

Slipping trees!

Posted on November 24, 2012 at 9:00pm 4 Comments

One awesome thing about the APM and FPV is the wind correction check box. When flying through these trees you have about two feet on each wing tip. Usually it's a pretty strong cross wind at the field as well. I've attempted with another stabilization unit, but it's no match..

Ok new to all this fancy stuff... One thing I wanted to know how to do is the do_jump to loop a mission. After some Googling around I found you have to add a dummy waypoint after the Do_Jump to get it to loop. Worked like a champ!
