"DG - I was curious where you ended up with PIDS on this frame?   I'm in the same boat - Just finishing up a 750 Y6, and I started with the 3DR PIDs, which, like you said, are clearly off.   This is the largest frame I've built,…"

Stuart Brookes replied to Scott Reid's discussion Z axis vibrations --> altitude issues. Looking for evidence to link these in log
"Accel z if bad will affect altitude like you are seeing. The brain tries to estimate altitude based on the acceleration as well as using baro and gps altitudes. You need to figure out what the vibration is and fix it."

Z axis vibrations --> altitude issues. Looking for evidence to link these in log

HiI had a frightening occurrence today where my 250-sized pixhawk / 3.2 quad suddenly started behaving very erratically in loiter mode -- rapidly gaining altitude. After spending some time graphing dataflash logs, It seems that the issue began with an as-yet-unexplained sudden increase  in vibration.   The graph snippet below shows AHRS altitude in orange, and Z axis IMU in blue.   The issue started right when the orange line shoots up for the first time, shortly before I switched to stabilize…See More

Dual Extrusion

I just upgraded my printer to a dual extruder, with the ultimate goal of printing vibration-isolating mounts with a combination of ABS and ninjaflex.  Apparently ninjaflex adheres to ABS well.   The photo above is my first dual extruder project -- it's a case for the rctimer ground telemetry module.   The body and cover are black…See More

Scott Reid replied to Ken DAvies's discussion Quad motors running instantly on arming
"Assuming MOT_SPIN_ARMED is nonzero (default is around 80 I think), the behavior you are describing sounds normal. The motors spin at low speed when armed. When you advance the throttle just a little, it will quickly bring the motors up to closer to…"
