Started Oct 9, 2013 0 Replies

There's a pretty regular stream of posts from beginners listing parts and asking for feedback, I thought I'd post some pics and specs for a quad which I've partially rebuilt three times, noting some…Continue

Dual Extrusion

I just upgraded my printer to a dual extruder, with the ultimate goal of printing vibration-isolating mounts with a combination of ABS and ninjaflex.  Apparently ninjaflex adheres to ABS well.   The photo above is my first dual extruder project -- it's a case for the rctimer ground telemetry module.   The body and cover are black…See More

Scott Reid replied to Ken DAvies's discussion Quad motors running instantly on arming
"Assuming MOT_SPIN_ARMED is nonzero (default is around 80 I think), the behavior you are describing sounds normal. The motors spin at low speed when armed. When you advance the throttle just a little, it will quickly bring the motors up to closer to…"

"By "Flight Planner", to you mean Mission Planner or APM Planner or something else? I've found that APM Planner doesn't do so well with google maps for some reason, where Mission Planner does."

Scott Reid replied to Justin Hardin's discussion 12V power for a Tarot Gimbal on 4S
"I'd avoid a 78xx regulator, they are very ineffecient. I'd recommend a buck-converter based regulator, like most discrete BECs are. I use one of these to power my gimbal, video tx,, and minimosd from a 4s."

Scott Reid replied to Gerd Ulbers's discussion Two ESC with BEC, two batteries and one RC channel result's in problems

Scott Reid replied to Gerd Ulbers's discussion Two ESC with BEC, two batteries and one RC channel result's in problems
"I would second Joes opinion. The second ground is definitely required. I'd begin by swapping escs to see if the problem follows. Also, once both grounds are connected as needed, you will need to recalibrate the escs if you originally did it…"
