Two outputs for aileron

Hi folks, I’m fairly new to UAV so forgive me if some of the stuff I’m writing makes no sense ;) I’m looking into buying the new APM2.0. I’m planning to use it in a heavily modified TwinStarII…Continue

"Regarding the price. It is similar to the FPV168 V2 with flaps at around 100$ and the Eagle without flaps at around 175$ from HK.  Marketing? ... maybe."

"Yep, still the same old tired 8-bit processor.  Since they off load the PWM and some other communication features to the 2nd processor it's almost like having a 16-bit processor.  Hopefully the dev team is hard at work porting code to…"

"At the rate they have been shipping, just order it as the pre-order unless they pulled that option down. Honestly, I was worried too on my last APM 2.0 order but it came up much faster than the previously annouced wait times. They are cranking them…"

Vernon Barry replied to Stephan Schmidt's discussion Differences between APM2.0 and ArduPilot Mega (kit)
"APM 2.0 has the latest sensors (gyro, barometer, accelerometers), better internal wiring, better future support from a firmware base, is smaller, and just a revision of the APM 1.0. One plus is all the sensors are digital and thus noise is far less…"

Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
Since quite a few years I dream about equipping one of my RC planes with an autonomous control. Mainly for two reasons: the idea itself is fascinating. Number two is, that I very thrilled by the (HD) video of my GoPro HD mounted on a heavily tweaked TwinStar II. The thing that bothers me sometime is the range of my eyes (although still in good shape ;). Although in nearly every aspect capable of inventing my own solution, there are a few things that make me think it is better to by one. Number one reason is time (job, family and so on). Number two is very profane but nearly a show stopper: soldering an ATmega1280 is (nearly) impossible by hand. The only thing to try would be reflow – which I don’t have any experience with and – again – not enough time to build this experience.
