"That is what i am hoping that it does tried it yesterday while flying in a gym and the sonar held altitude steady as a rock. Once it warms up a bit I will try it outside and see if it makes a difference when selected on or off."

"Steve,       I think the switch enables/disables the sonar but it won't switch it completely off.  So it will still make little ping-ping-ping noises.  When disabled it won't be used for altitude hold…"

Sonar control with Channel 8

I am trying to use Channel 8 to turn my sonar on and off when connected to the mission planner i can see that the switch does work. But the Sonar does not turn on and off when switched when testing it it works even when switched off.I thought that the function would work or am i missing something?See More

"I just started playing with that yesterday when the snow flakes started had to quit.  Today i went back to a 3 cell battery and it was much better than the 4 cell. Once i get the THR_MID set i think all will be good! Thanks for the input."

"All my power loss events have been when using deans connectors on my batteries. When connected i would move the battery wires and see the APM lose and then regain power.  I changed to XT60 connectors and no longer have any problems. "

"Just tried powering the APM from one of the ESC's and there is no problem with the APM when doing it that way.  Seems that it was the Power Module that took the hit."

"You should try powering your APM via one of the BEC off one of ESC. You will power through the output pins. Remember to replace JP1 jumper."

"I have one of these going into a new custom build presently... as it's an advanced research platform it's got a lot of other bits to go into it before flight tests... but I'll report back in Jan/Feb as to our experiences with this FMU…"
