Connect the gps RX line to the Ap.
If all went well, the Ap will setup the gps to 38400 and 4Hz.
Open the gps cover and just solder one wire to the gps Rx pad, then solder the other tip of the wire to the Ap board Txo plug…"

I have tried with another GPS of the same type (Locosys LS20033) and it didn't work.
I used this GPS on a FY-21AP and it worked.
So the GPS is working properly.

If it is so (38400, NMEA output) try it with only GND, Vc and Tx connect to the Ap board.
It should work!

I remember reading in the past some problem related with shield, gps and the led behaviour.
Don't remember if the AP was operational or not with the led problem.
Forget the shield, you don't need it to do FPV/RTL.
