"Are we really having this discussion? You guys might think the rules are lame or that "experienced" people don't have to follow them for some reason but arguing there are no accepted rules is a non starter. In…"
"Last I checked DIYdrones was supposed to be a community board where people could have friendly discussions about things UAV related. I'd think the wisdom of flying a UAV in the middle of Vegas is a topic where people might have…"
"I've got to side with Zak on this one. I love the team black sheep videos, they are totally awesome and push the limits of coming up with new cool ways to fly uav's. I show them in presentations all the time to convey to people why this…"
"I agree its hard to know without a demo. I spoke to one of their reps on the phone for a while and he gave very good answers for all my questions. I was looking for a plug and play product for getting google earth layers from uav flights. But you…"
"I have a FlyCamOne3 or FCO3 along with the transmitter set that goes with it. All-in-all it is compact and does work. I had the display screen go out and had to get it replaced, and recently had to pay over $50 to get the pan/tilt RX cable…"
"Denny this project is awesome! We've been dreaming of a UAV that could follow us when we are backcountry skiing but none of us had the technical skills to implement it.
Have you though about approaching the ski film industry…"
"This looks great! We're interested in developing low cost uav solutions for scientists to monitor their field sites and make it easier to do repeat aerial surveys of remote research areas. The UAVs are getting cheap but good image stitching…"
"Looks pretty cool. Some of their other products are intriguing too. The 1080p version looks like it has built in wireless on 433mh... not sure if its for wireless video feed or just control of the unit."
I have background in biology and a strong interest in using new technologies to facilitate advanced ecology research and education. Most recently we developed a solar powered, gigapixel time-lapse imaging system called Gigavision. It can take up to a 3 billion pixel image every hour (check out http//www.gigavision.org).
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I'm interested in using/developing UAVs for long term time-series ecosystem observation.
