I have my QAV500 platform tuned very well with 2.8.1, i can let go of sticks and have it maintain position for quite a while without any input.  However, today I finally got around to enabling the…Continue

"I love the power module, but I think I can speak for a lot of people that 4s is a big restriction. A 6s capable module would be really helpful. I would also love to see a 3dr product for high power PWM."

"What a great little product, but I agree with the other comments about price. You can get thermal imaging modules from scrapped high end cars for around 800-1100. At that range it makes sense to a hobby guy, I think 5k is very reasonable for…"

"The resistor goes on rx, as rx sends a 5v signal, it reduces that.   So your second diagram is correct.  Nothing changes on the APM (no bridges cut/soldered etc), on your receiver, ensure you are going in to the correct telemetry enabled…"

Daniel Chote replied to Daniel Chote's discussion APM 2.5 serial connectivity question
"No. No ground shown in my picture. This is just the tx+rx together with resistor. This is because the receiver is already grounded to the apm for power input."

Daniel Chote replied to Daniel Chote's discussion APM 2.5 serial connectivity question
"It is just tx+rx together (as you want to only have 1 ground to avoid ground loops), and yes... the 1.5k resistor is bridging the 2 as per documentation here: http://code.google.com/p/hott-for-ardupilot/wiki/QuickStartGuideArduCopter Works as…"

Alternative IDE project for compiling+uploading code

Posted on April 17, 2013 at 10:30am 3 Comments

I have been working on a fork of the Arduino IDE for use with the Pinocc.io project. With all the improvements I have made, it became my default go to for any Arduino code uploading, so it was inevitable that I would bake in ArduPilot…

I finally rebuilt my ATG-700-AL Hexacopter, and got around to moving my QAV500 over to the Graupner receiver.  Now that both platforms were functional, I decided to get stuck in to 2.9 and hott-for-ardupilot. …

3DR Black friday deals assembled! 2.5 case and 3DR power module

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 8:03am 16 Comments

With the 3DR black friday deals, and the release of their power module, I took the opportunity to get another couple of APM2.5s, the cases that we have been anticipating, and some power modules.  I got it all assembled yesterday and I must admit I love the simplicity it adds to the build.

I now just have signal leads coming from the ESCs in…
