Started this discussion. Last reply by Scott Cragoe Jul 8, 2013. 8 Replies

I built a TRex 450 with an APM mounted as suggested by Randy but am thinking about changing it and mounting it in a different way that would result in the APM being upside down.  My question is, can…Continue

"Is this configuration (inverted AMP) option added to the mission planner setup yet or is it going to be added if not already? "

"Yes, great stuff!  Just made this mod to mount an apm1 under my 3DR frame.  Works tremendously. :)  The filename has changed but grepping on GYROY etc will turn it up."

"Thanks Robert.  The DS530 does look quite good based on the specs, but like you said the few review there are not that good."

"Thanks Robert.  I am going to upgrade my servos then.  Do you think the HK-922 is a good and affordable choice?  In my test this servo performs well on the tail.  Would you recommend something different in the $10-$20…"

"I currently have a HK-922 as my tail servo and I am thinking about using it for all 4 servos.  Do you think there is a reason that align uses slower servos for the head than the tail?  Besides cost?  Is slower smoother or better in…"

"I have been flying with HXT900 servos with limited success.  I think they are too jittery and too slow to work well with the flybarless head and the APM.  What do you guys think?  What servo's are you using?  I am thinking…"

"Randy,   Do you need to "arm" the motors to make it save the offsets?  I did a few flights today and it didn't seem to save the offsets."

"Have you looked at the hardware-in-loop for quad rotors?  I think you would be able to find or create a flightgear traditional heli model that would work and then be able to adapt the code.  I haven't tried to do hardward-in-loop yet,…"
