"Thanks for Replying Tom,     Yes I did the set Home Location and it goes to zero. If I disconnect and reconnect it goes back to the very large number (215009.84 ft). So my guess is it is being loaded from somewhere and if it is in the…"

"Have you tried to reset the "Home Location" display on the lower right of the Flight Planning screen to a location where you are actually doing your programmed mission? Once you reset it there is should stay. As for the other stuff,…"

Mission Planner and APM2 problems

On recent versions of firmware (where I seem to have not been able to get my quad flying like it did on 2.73) I have been trying to figure out what has gone south. When I ploy my waypoints and disconnect and then reconnect I see the distance to waypoint is 215009.84 feet. Is this normal? Every time I launch it does one of two things1.) it flips on its back2.) I get in the air and flip the auto switch and it takes off to somewhere I have not plotted as a waypoint. I have to crash it (if I can't…See More

"It seems that this is a common problem for the AE-30A. There is an alternative though if you are adventurous. There is a new flash out for these controllers. It is not factory but the results seem to be good for quads.   http://oddcopter.com"

"Most speed controllers, if identical and calibrated identically, will work the same, some of the cheaper or no-name brands can have variation issues but even then they are normally quite close. If your quad is randomly tipping then something else…"

What is the proper way to get help.

I have an 3DR Arducopter with Turnigy AE-30 esc's. I have a 2.5 APM and brand new 2838 motors. In fact, everything is brand new.I have another Quad that flies perfectly. It comes back when it is "called" and flies very nicely.The 3DR is a little larger and I outfitted it with 10x4.7 props. My problem is that  I tried an APM1.0 and now the new 2.5 and they both do the same thing. Neither will lift the 3DR off the ground successfully!It seems to randomly tip to a different side each time I try to…See More

Hi...back in Sept you wrote
I get this. Me thinks the AVRstudio overwrote something. ANy ideas?

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51
----
Did you ever find the problem? I am getting the same error with a brand new Ardupilot. Thanks,

Win
