"Thanks for the reply. I thought connecting negatives together create a ground loop. The fact i prefer not to use them in parellel is because of the xt60 plugs. They are rated at only at 60A so i am afraid that it might catch fire. "

APM1.0 octoctoper with 2 separate batteries

HelloI am building an octocopter with 8x tiger mt2814 motors and 8x 30A rctimer ESC's with SimonK firmare, 2x 5000mAh 4S batteries.I want to use one battery for 4 motors and other battery for 4 motors + apm.I have attached wiring diagram also. So the problem is that when i do that only motors that are behind ESC 1/3/7/10 starts to spin, because they are powered by battery nr2. APM is powered via ESC 3.But when i tried powering APM from the other battery and ESC 4 etc. then motors behind battery…See More

"I have the same problem with APM1 v1.4 board. There was 0 wind outside and even then my quad wouldn't like to fly level. Was really jumpy and strange altough i had the same pid settings as with 2.5.3. Did a rollback to 2.5.3 and its flying fine."

"Well that is embarrasing but the power cable between APM and TX was really loose. I only touched it a little bit and it came off from the APM's end. Really lucky that it didn't happen mid air (well it kinda did). Thanks guys."

"I had a short in my wiring that would crop up during flight from time to time... it was a stray RC signal wire that shorted to the APM."

"Check the wiring on your RC receiver. It looks like it cuts out completely twice. Green is altitude, red is throttle in and I circled the signal loss area in blue. "

"This sounds like a radio failsafe event. Your receiver may have lost radio contact for a moment, and it's default behavior is to lower the throttle to 0. Jason"
