"I wanted to know the same but I had different result, when I plug 2 servos in and my receiver then the APM board powers my receiver from the USB port.... (AR7000 receiver ) and it powers it thru any port is that good or bad?"

"This won't work. APM, like all RC electronics, can only use TTL-level serial. Ie, not DB-9 RS-232."

"Your RC system is normally powered by an LiPo and ESC in the case of an electric aircraft or stand-alone battery in the case of gas. That's how APM should get its power in the plane, too. The USB is only for the benchtop."

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.
