Telemetry AND video in one package?

Started Dec 14, 2012 0 Replies

This might be the wrong place to ask this question, but I am wondering if there is a telemetry kit that can handle video as well as telemetry.  If my controller is 2.4Ghz, and I want my drone to…Continue

Anyone done any research on good throttle settings on a bixler type model for best range?  I'm assuming full throttle will get you to your destination fastest, but certainly not the most efficiently.…Continue

Telemetry AND video in one package?

This might be the wrong place to ask this question, but I am wondering if there is a telemetry kit that can handle video as well as telemetry.  If my controller is 2.4Ghz, and I want my drone to support live telemetry and video, is my only choice to add TWO additional kits, one for telemetry  and the other for video on TWO different bands (ie 900 Mhz, and 433 Mhz/5.4Ghz), or is there a solution that will let me simply add ONE new antenna and get both telemetry and video.  I am using APM 1.…See More

Anyone done any research on good throttle settings on a bixler type model for best range?  I'm assuming full throttle will get you to your destination fastest, but certainly not the most efficiently.  If I wanted to set my min/max throttle settings to max out my range, I would guess 60-70% throttle would be a good place to start.  Anyone got any info on this? Thanks!TravisSee More

Mike Boland replied to travisneedham's discussion Adjust Alt on log files after flight?
"Your rlog/tlog show 3 'flights' at 8-11, 8-12, and 8-14 pm. Your kmz file was pulled form the APM at 8-27 pm being log 13 I think. If it was the last log file in the APM then it should go with the last rlog/tlog in the list at…"

"Thanks for the help guys.  I've attached screenshots of my logs.  The name of the tlog files are different that the others.  2012-09-30 20-27 13.kmz is the right KMZ (the others are empty), which tlog file goes with…"

"If you open your file in another application, like a spreadsheet, then data alteration would be straight forward. The MP is pretty good at storing files so are you sure you had a connection during the flight? "

Adjust Alt on log files after flight?

Hi,I am a total newb here, so forgive the simple question, but I just flew my maiden voyage with my APM 1 on my Bixler 2 yesterday and I am now looking at my log files.  I figured out how to look at the log in Google earth, using the KMZ file, but the alt is too high.  Can I adjust it some how, to set my take-off/landing point to be on the ground? (on the same plane at the Google earth image)Also, I can't seem to find the matching tlog file in my logs folder, for my flight.  I have loaded every…See More

Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I'm really interested in starting simple, and ultimately ending up with an awesome UAV that can take miles and hours long trips sending back a live night vision enabled video feed with pan/tilt/zoom, and can take coarse corrections on the fly. Also possibly perform search patterns looking for an RF signal, and then when it finds it, go and drop a payload off, and return home.
