Flight Control Board trial run.

Getting pcb yesterday, I have assembled it ASAP, and link it with REAL ICE.

This board comes with a dsPIC30F6015 CPU and just for control servo ,receive redio-in and RF datalink.

It can provide the RF moden power directly and driving 4 futaba 3003 servos in the same time.

The sensors and gps will be integrated as one board and connect with this via connector for using new components in the future.

Integrating Remzibi OSD & ArduPilot 2.5.04

I spent the better part of the night working on a way to send GPS data and flight control information over to the Remzibi OSD and have finally found a near complete working solution that doesn't involve enabling NMEA. Of course I could have taken the easy way out of enabling NMEA messages but I wanted to have something that would work with ANY GPS module as long as ArduPilot could set the correct variables in the current_loc struct.

The only pieces left to complete are numSV doesn't… Continue

MARCY 1 & MARCY 2 4 U

MARCY 2 CONTINUES AS A TRI ROTOR, RETURN OF STILL PHOTO TIMELAPSES

MARCY 1 ATTITUDE HOLD 4 U

Attitude hold on Marcy 1 seems to be a disaster. In the wind, She seemed to actually stabilize with the attitude hold on. When She got near the trees, that must have confused the thermopiles & caused her to bank away from the trees, leading to a seemingly stable position in the middle of the fairway.

In 1 short break between storms, the attitude hold was a… Continue

The Fire-Brigade-Ship era

The time came, when i left the idea with the bodyboard and turned to something more „ship-like“. A colleage of mine got the RC-model of a fire-brigade-ship on ebay. This monokeel-hull, was the new platform for the further testings. I kept the…

Ardupilot integration into the new robbe Arcus

Dear DIY community,

just wanted to share first pictures of a new project - integrating Ardupilot into the new Arcus Sport glider (a product of robbe here in Germany). The Arcus is an electric glider with a wing span of 2.6 meters, completely made out of "Arcel" - a similar foam like Multiplex's "Elapor". It comes as an RTF kit, complete with six servos (rudder, elevator, 2 x ailerons, 2 x flaps, ESC, and a brushless outrunner for about 260 Euros (350 $).

I have integrated the… Continue

OpenLog Resetting Issues

I think I've debugged one of the issues I was having with my OpenLog connecting to Ardupilot. This will probably be blatantly obvious to you veteran Arduino Programmers, but it got me, so I figured I'd post in case it helps anyone else.

After a few flights with only the open log and the ArduIMU, I decided to integrate the ArduPilot board and move the logger to the Ardupilot board. My ArduIMU was now talking to the…
