3rd flight and first full autonomous flight from take off to touch down. Still some tuning to figure out. You'll see from the video that when the copter approaches each waypoint, there is a lot of oscillation then it smoothes out. If anyone has any tips on how to adjust the setting to get rid of this please comment below.…Continue
Using a FrSKY Taranis X9D, we have been mixing different switches for 7 flight modes. RTL on a ONE-Switch Return Home and 6 other flight modes for Arducopter. Today, we are sharing with you Part 3 of the series of videos we made on how to add the sound files to each flight mode and more. We had several field testers and we use a standard of 10 tracks on…Continue

Aaron Curtis always loved science, especially the “big-picture” stuff, like geology and space science. After attending high school in Brazil and Sweden (his father is a diplomat), Aaron received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University. That’s where he discovered his passion for volcanoes. A member of the…Continue
A quick unboxing and review of the new 3DR Y6 Kit. I will also be posting a build and first flight video soon for anyone interested in this platform.
I have been working on a new airframe over recent weeks and wanted to replace the rather abstract 66 x 35mm box used to represent the APM 2.5 board with something a little more detailed and accurate. My search for an existing model found nothing I could use, so a few hours later this is what I…Continue
Ive been wanting to build a Hanging Pendulum robot for the last 30 years
Technology (and inexpensive consumer parts) finally conspired to let me try and realize my dream.
Inexpensive 500 watt 48 volt 26" Chinese brushless bicycle wheels form the basis of my bot.
And the chassis is…Continue
We have been skipping the ArduPilot Camera Gimbal page for a while, so finally we are back to revisit this feature. ArduCopter can stabilize a gimbal with up to three axis of motion using any of the free output channels. This really mades APM one of the best flight controller around.…

Synopsis: Recently a couple of FrSky Taranis were donated to our Ardupilot projects. As we always document all of our builds on video, I will try to include them…Continue

This tutorial will show you how to get your CHDK-enabled camera connected to your ArduPilot Mega (APM) without buying any extra hardware or decoding PWM outputs. You might want to make this connection to take advantage of the camera trigger function based on distance covered, to ensure a certain overlap and to avoid excessively high overlap. This modification is not necessary, if you have a CHDK camera and want to keep it simple, you won’t gain much by switching to this…Continue
Here's what I can do for photos this late in the game. I really should have taken build photos before everything got covered up with electrical tape and zip ties ;) The craft is crude, but I'm really happy with how it flies with modded 2.9.1b firmware. I'm working on 3.0.1, but tonight's weather got in the…Continue

So I finally received my APM 2.6 + accessories. As it's been almost a month since I ordered it so I had a lot of time to consider how I was going to dampen the vibrations. Below in the photos is my solution (not sure if it works yet, as I haven't tried to fly).
