On 5/20/12 North Texas Near Space (NTNS) and Project Soar collaborated on a dual launch during the annular eclipse. Albuquerque was directly in path of the eclipse. Here a video of the test of a Nimbus 4 meters wingspan electro-glider piloted by the firmware ArduPlane 2.28xp1 (updated version with a JLN mod). Test done in HIL mode with the AeroSIM-RC v3.83 simulator connected through the AP Mission planner v1.1.30 on an ArduPilot Mega board v1.

TaigaCam and Ardupilot tries to look home position all the time. Camera can turn about 100 degrees. In Ardupilot there is no compass, and therefore it calculates flight direction once per second according to gps. That's why camera turns slowly.
