Here is an interesting quad frame that Hobbyking is selling. I can see this really working.
Nice enclosures for the motors…Continue
Upload Stable, Beta or Developer Firmware to your APM or PX4 for ArduCopter, ArduPlane and ArduRover. The ArduPilot Developers have put together a Great new site from which you can upload any version of Firmware Drivers to your APM or PX4…Continue
This is the third iteration of my Ardupilot Mega to Hitec telemetry adapter. Adapter no longer requires modifications to APM itself, but instead connects to telemetry port of APM and it has a pass through connector for telemetry transmitter. I made PCB this time using SMD parts for smaller size:…Continue
I made a strange frame, it's not pretty looks, but it really can fly.
It isn't very stable now. I will keep tuning.
My idea is simple, just need one engine take the air into box, then go out from three gas outlet. Three servo control flow rate to make different force. And need a tail blade to control yaw. It's very like…Continue
I was testing my Maja in full manual mode this afternoon, an eagle come and join the fun of it. We flew a few round together before I realise that it actually come to defends it's airspace. A few attempt to close in with the plane and lower it's craw ready for a catch. Lucky it didn't success and I have power reserved to escape from situation.
MY Maja 2.2 M was build as per instruction with some reinforcement. AUW is 2.8kg. A 3S 2200 battery was put in front as…Continue
Take a look at my heavy lift hexacopter.
It flies very stable with the standard PIDS.
Couldn't get loiter to work though.

I didn't think I'd actually get this far so soon, but somehow I have. I got my APM2 strapped on to my T-Rex 600 and managed to get it in the air. In fact, I've even got it tuned moderately well!
I started out switching the APM from my 3DR quad to the trex frame and began the process of learning how to…Continue
Yesterday I received issue 30 of Make Magazine, and on the cover of the magazine there was a big "RC Stunt Plane".
It seems a super-cheap platform on which building a frame for testing arduplane on: the frame is basically extruded polystyrene insulation board with a reinforced area to host all electronics and…Continue
If by "Stormy" you mean "Somewhat Cloudy", and by "Sea" you mean "San Francisco Bay"...
Radio contact lost, Zephyr II with APM flies to points unknown, rescued with APM and most other electronics functioning.

GroundControl and MAVLink have been improved substantially behind the scenes over the last months. The most obvious new feature on the user level are custom user widgets. You can configure yourself parameter sliders and buttons and even export this widget into a *.qgw file, which other users can import. The video shows how to create a custom attitude control…Continue
