I had a blast helping my friend build his hexacopter last weekend. This video includes some tips and tricks. We also had to do some interesting trouble shooting for problem that showed up during ESC calibration that turned out to be a bad soldering job (yep it was my fault!).
Anyway please enjoy a 5 minute condensed version of a fun day building the most…Continue
Kalman Filter Code for Yellow Plane 2 Special thanks to Kristian Lauszus, TKJ Electronics
This is the code in the main loop UpdateServos()
unsigned long msDelta = LastMicros - micros();…
Missing battery and camera box have a design which should weigh 140 grams empty.
The assembly shown below weighs 684 Grams no motor or electronics.
Electronics shown weigh 110 grams ESC Arduino board, Xbee, antenna & Gyro…Continue
Revised Yellow FPV Plane with gyro stability system added, Worked best with analogue inputs from Murata piezo gyro sensors of a dead KK board filtered taking a 10 point average. Yaw compensation is currently not used as there is no rudder presently.
Gyro stability code in action…Continue

This isn't directly applicable to autopilots, but there was some interest from this community in the ArduSat effort, so here goes... On October 27th, the EDGE Research Laboratory team launched and successfully recovered the ArduSat prototype system. It was a huge thrill for us to get to work with the team at…Continue
Just a heads-up that Teensy my favorite small form factor Arduino compatible board, just got a solid upgrade with the…Continue
The Class Diagram features of Microsoft Visual Studio provide the facility to show graphically any area of an Apm program. This is an ideal way for new users to understand how ArduPilot and ArduCopter code is designed.
Microsoft Visual Studio provides a 100%…Continue
This week I tested my quadcopter. Some while ago I replyed to a blog and showed my homemade super cheap motor vibration dampers. Some poeple where sceptic. But totday I can show you that my multicopter can fly
Its's build from scratch. Wifi controlled and has aruidno compatible control board.…Continue

I finally got to fly my quad (my first time ever!)
It's scratch built from angle aluminum and running MultiWii on an Arduino Mega. I'm controlling it via PC joystick over Wifi (soon to be controlled by iPhone too) thanks to my…Continue
Today I went to a mega store and I found this "broken" car for just 9.99 pounds, so I decided to buy it and replace the crappy car that I mounted all the stuffs.
The next week I will buy 1 ultrasound sensor, extension IO and a compass, them should help the car to drive in a specific direction ( i.e. to the north ) and I am going to avoid the…Continue
Mathworks started to support Arduino on their MATLAB/Simulink.
I didn't look through carefully, however, sounds really interesting.
Good news is that this feature will be supported in student license…Continue
this is my first post on this blog and I'd like to give some information about my new personal project. How you read on the title, the project is a RC CAR with Arduino nano that is controlled by TB6612FNG.
The final project will be a RC CAR controlled by Arduino nano and a few sensors, the big goal is to create a car that I…Continue

Plan is to mount under fuselage of Telemaster 12' and Mugin when it arrives.
Camera Position is being controlled by Arduino via ethernet, Pan, Til,t Zoom , and record to local SD,and h264 stream, works so far.
Nice thing about this camera is its speed. Also does great with its built in video stabilization.
My plan is…Continue
I've been working on a new version of our ArduEye using one of our "Stonyman" image sensor chips and decided to see if I can grab four dimensions of optical flow (X shift, Y shift, curl, and divergence) from a wide field of view. I wirebonded a Stonyman chip to a 1" square breakout board, and attached it to an Arduino Mega256 using a simple…Continue

Long time since my last post!
I'm glad to announce the new ArduIMU V3 that will take the place of the very successful ArduIMU v2 (flat version). We called it flat version because ArduIMU V2 was created in a time where 3 axis and even 2 axis gyros were not so common and we had to place some of the…Continue
I was looking for a parachute ejection system for one of my small UAV and I found the miga motors nanomuscle. Cheap SMA system linear actuator (less than 10$ unit), I was thinking about using some instead of the servos on UAV.
