ArduCutter Matures - Becomes A Drone

The last post was almost laughable as ArduCutter barley got off the ground and certainly didn't do much in the way of entertaining. Well, it still isn't ready for Vegas however I've been feeling pretty good about the progress especially since the project was started with a strategy of hope. ArduCutter Finally Sees First Action!

ArduCutter gets airborne after the past week of building fun and a little embarrassment. It is all in the name. I recently read the line, "Multicopters are essentially flying lawnmowers.." from the ArduCopter wiki. This is not an exaggeration as my ArduCutter has cut me, and my grass. Of course I'd…

GeoTagging Images on Mission Planner

Geo-tagged aerial pictures are very useful for mosaic mapping as well as the creation of accurate 3D models from a terrain.

Michael Oborne added a great tool for injecting GPS data on the EXIF tags by using APM's telemetry log from a flight.

This tutorial was…

Scout Hexa really stable with Arducopter 2.4.1

I have been working on a hexacopter for aerial videography and photography.   The hexacopter is equipped with a ArduPilot Mega with sonar, gps, magnetometer and a camera gimbal.  After hours of tuning, I got the Scout Hexa really dialed in.

I really happy with the stability of the Arducopter code.  Here is a video demonstrating some of the ArduPilot…
