I thought the vertical position was ideal but in your picture it is placed horizontally. My flying wing doesn't have the height to place the ublox vertically so it would be great if I could still get great performance placing it horizontally. Nice box btw!
the ublox has a spherical antenna, so it has good reception in almost every position

If you wish to see what sort of quality of work we do, please have a quick look at the lasing cutting on my prototype Hawker Tempest Mk5

Chris is right, Ublox or similar helical antenna, must be vertical, or perpendicular to the sky, this is very important.
So you need to change that, even if the antenna exits the box through a hole(un obstructed view of the sky also important)
Ok, i dont feel its right to bandy money about on this forum, but.
I need a DXF/PLT of just the parts to give you an accurate cost, but in real terms....not much..
shipping to US for summet like that, about £4, as the machines run at 55meters a minute (and we charge by the minute), material costs are very low, a few quid at most. As this is a personal offer i would do it cost anway
So, if you want me to accuratley cost it for you, please let me have a DXF or similar with scaling.
Something worth thinking about is coloured acrylics, more expensive material, but weight for strength, this would look VERY cool as a 'homage' to DIYd
VERY nice SW work by the way....
I use a similar method for prototyping, here is a small preview.
