It is with GREAT pleasure that I am launching CANADADRONES.COM

Your Canadian source for UAV gear.

It is a Canadian Distributor web store where you will find all your ArduCopter needs!

After being bitten by the DIYDRONES bug nearly 2 years ago and ran into all the possible issues there could be with a Quad (Crashes / rebuild and Crashes cycles... you all know the drill)

I finally got tired of wait for my parts to get delivered to me and sometimes getting hit by the “surprize” duty fees!

So I’ve contacted all our friends with the BIG stores around here, jDrones.com, DIYDRONES.com and BuildYourOwnDrone.co.uk to get the ball rolling on opening my own distribution channel. (Sorry world, Canada only for me!)

As expected the feedback and help from these guys was awesome and I need to say that I am so proud to be part of this amazing community!  Thanks Jani for the countless hours of discussion, Thanks Martin for the hints and inside bits of your store plus the encouragement words. And all the staff at 3DRobotics (Yvett and all) for their supports on setting up the official distributor agreement.

Ok enough Oscars type speach... Although I need to say thanks to my wife and familly for the long hours of moral support they gave me while building what I know will be a real sucess story!

You know why I think it will be a great adventure? Because of YOU here, always happy to help around, educate and improove our products. So without further ado, Canadian customers welcome to my store!

Inventory is humble at the moment as this is considered “testing the water” but I have parts in stock to support all your Quad/Hexa needs, from the AutoPilot IMU to the full Original ArduCopter/Hexa and 3DR kits you will find what you need.

I will get regular restock from the real DIYDRONES suppliers so quality is there and it will grow with the demand just lilke Martin did over the pond!

Just like his mode of operation I will put Customer Service at the center of my business model.

This is just the begining of a wonderfull ride!

* as any new website launch there could be some bugs/glitches so please report any broken links/images or strange behavior to dany@canadadrones.com

Just wanted to give a shout out for awesome service.  I discovered late Wednesday that my Magnetometer was toast, so I ordered one, and a bunch of other little things, at 10PM that night.  Dany got it out and to the post office the next morning so it could get a head start on processing that day.  Apparently it was delivered today.  So that's "virtually" overnight shipping.  Unheard of for Canadian's normally!

I do my best Robert! I think it could be better but Canada Post services around holidays is really not the best! :)

Basically I "monitor" the orders until midnight and it gets to the post office in the morning around 9am (dropping the kids to school and doing a post office drop, all part of the new morning routine!)

I am looking at Fedex and UPS for next year... rates are so outrageous... but hey I've discovered that some of my clients have deep pockets and sometimes shipping cost is not an issue!  :)

Glad to offer the best possible service, I know how frustrating it is waiting for a part in the mail!

I'm going over 3 weeks now waiting for stuff from Hobby King!  :(

That's the way to do it, because you're at an urban center, drop it off in the morning and the package gets a head start on the day.

Dany  I only came across FPV since I have been back into RC since March  do you sell a complete package TX RX Camera and "Goggles" sort of a "plug and play "system ? What would you recomend to a "Newbie in into FPVeventually I will probably get an auto pilot but FPV or some type of telemetry to show which way it is headed would be good for the odd time when it gets just far enough away from you you can't tell if it is coming or going?

Thank You ! Have a Good Day!!

I do not carry (yet?) any FPV gear.   At the moment I send people to http://www.nghobbies.com/cart/  They are a great Canadian company and they are the expert in that field.

I will down the road pick one system and carry it but at the moment it's too much investment to open that line of products.

Hey I am always open for donation to help building my inventory! hahaha

Hi Dany just a suggestion for your FPV gear inventory. ;)

Yeah, sure but I will not be able to get good prices on these, there is not point having items that I need to sell at a way higher price than you can get elsewhere.  I did that for a while on the Nano-Tech lipo from HK but they are really not as good as my new KyPom ones. In LiPo world you really get what you pay for no matter the marketing hype.   HK products can be great 75% of the time and price are always cheap but when you get defective stock or bad quality you get tired of that 25%.

I am still waiting before adding more product lines to the store, each one is a big investment that takes away the cashflow to support existing products.

I currently support 229 products and most are in stock!  Inventory management is a science and I am still learning it.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Always doing my best to ship fast.

I hate orders taking more than a day to ship (even on weekends) but sometimes volumes gets quite high (high for my little operation, nothing compare to a real dedicated store) and I only ship after 2 days...

Still I try to make it as fast as possible!

Thanks to all of the 260 happy customers and sorry about the 1 really not happy one! (cant please everyone!)

Just a note for everyone (I think I will do a separate post/blog about it...)

CanadaDrones will be closed for 2 weeks for vacation (I think I deserve it!)

Dates are July 22 to August 5th  (I may be able to do 1 day of massive shipping in the middle but no guaranty!)

So if you place an order after July 21-22 Shipping will resume on August 6th.
