For those who want Long range / Long flying time / High payload the new X8 wing will get you there..
The wing X8, will be released early 2012.
Wing span: 2122mm
Wing area: 80dm2
valid payload: 1000-2000g
X8 use KV730 2820 Motor, 40-60A ESC and 1260, 1280 prop

Do you think it would take 3kg payload. I don't need high performance, just the ability to carry 3kg.
I shall probably have to manufacture an undercarriage and have a long ground roll, but will it do it? Anyone who owns an X8 your opinion would be greatly received! Thanks
Comment by Glen Thomas on August 23, 2012 at 11:52pm X8 carries 3kg easily, airframe empty comes in under 1.5kg if you build conservatively and my present all up weight with 2, 4s lipos, large motor putting out 3.3kg thrust, gyro, receiver, telemetry module with altitude module, camera anti vibration mount with canon S100 and fpv camera with TX-RX is just over 2.7kg and the X8 flies out of my hand
