don't forget to watch the video in the linked site :D
This guy was arrested by the police for piloting his R/C plane on a busy highway, while on a bike driven by his girlfriend.
According to the reporter the news crew spotted the couple trying to trick the police by flying the airplane at a higher altitude while crossing border patrol.

It's kind of funny... but dangerous and unfortunately giving R/C flying a bad reputation.

How do you say Idiot in Spanish... oh yea, Idiota!
Comment by Gian Carlo M. on January 16, 2012 at 9:41am don't know how you say it in spanish, but in portuguese it is "idiota" :P

It's the same. Wow, I have to admit that I've thought it would be cool to rid as a passenger in the back country and fly a plane as the vehicle moves, but on a busy road?

So, why exactly was he doing this? Just for fun? Or drug smuggling (related to the board crossing situation).
Comment by Gian Carlo M. on January 16, 2012 at 9:52am @robert I think it was just for fun (maybe he'd like to post a cool youtube vid...:)). i actually mis-translated.. it wasn't a border crossing, just a highway police patrol station he passed by.
Comment by Ellison Chan on January 16, 2012 at 9:57am From what little Spanish I understand:
Um rapaz foi flagrado por um repórter cinematográfico da RPC TV Foz do Iguaçu...
I think he was a reporter for this "RPC TV"..

I think it was just kids doing something stupid, the translated article did not say anything about anything illicit, but who knows. It's kind of funny to read the translated comments. Seems that things are the same everywhere. There were only a few comments, one seemed to be on the reporter's case w/my impression that this is a non-story, another's comments were how there are no specific laws against this and a third was safety issue where the plane could have gone out of control and crashed into a motorcycle or car windshield killing folks... Those sound like some of the same comments that happen with stories where that FPV guy flys around cities in the US...
Comment by Gian Carlo M. on January 16, 2012 at 9:58am it's portuguese guys... not spanish. in brazil we speak portuguese... lol
Comment by Gian Carlo M. on January 16, 2012 at 9:59am @ellison the video was made by reporters who happened to be on the highway at the time
Comment by Ellison Chan on January 16, 2012 at 10:00am Oops, forgot it was Brazil. Portuguese of course. Not wonder it seemed like strange Spanish. ;-)
