The Nortel Cash Cow.  Nice.  I'm sure a lot of shareholders would appreciate that.

Ever hear about the two investors, one who bought Nortel stock, and one who bought beer?  Long story short, the beer was a better investment as the empties were worth more at the end. ;)

I love this thread of irrelevant, fun tangents.  It's like Cleo meets Wired.  Keep 'em coming, let's get thissun in the top 5!

Alright, nevermind Nick. My smart boyfriend explained. I'm a bit slow on the uptake :)

Karla, I hope Chris Anderson doesn't see you asking what "Wired" is.  He might kick you off the forum or block you from posting. ;-)

So how many of your girlfriends or wives are interested in what you guys are doing with Copters?

Well, my girl is very supportive 'cos she appreciates how excited I get about the hobby.  But in the same way, she clearly has to stifle a loathing for copters at times.  When I'm trying to nut out a problem, I can be less than half-attentive to whatever the hell she's saying.......................   She likes to fly the ARdrone occasionally.

While I try to conduct my UAS interest as business-like as possible (I am part of an engineering/AP team) my wife doesn't see it that way. It is a battle at times, but I see the future in this. I have spent many years flying RC helicopters as a hobby, and I think that shines a bad light on my current intellectual and business interest.

Ellison, now I know. It's Gareth's fault for not telling me. I must say that I do like the Popular Mechanics Magazine and now I will follow Wired. Life is about learning. I just learnt something. I hate all the rubbish magazines that they have for girls. Each magazine has the same info but they just tell you in a different way.

I was never really into guys stuff but never liked girls stuff. I prefer different information that I can learn from. Granted I don't have the best memory but I try to listen and learn. I can now teach other people about computer stuff that I would never have know if it wasn't for Gareth.

As for the wives and girlfriends not understanding. You could always take 5 or 10 minutes to listen and ask some questions about what your female companions are doing and you might find they give the same back. After all it is about give and take.

I think that if both sexes stopped trying to be better than the other they would find that they learnt something instead of fighting. It is not easy to put your Ego aside. Both sexes have ego's after all
