Anyone used this module with APM2 ??? Flyport open source WiFi module
That seems really expensive. I tend to shy away from anybody other than Atheros or Broadcom for Wifi chips though, if possible. They are really the only ones who offer reasonable driver and developer support.
By the way, realized my comment was a bit curt... This thing is cool. I wish that there were better options out there for emulating non-IP traffic over WiFi (just i2c or serial, or if I can dream servo pulses) for a low price.
Will not use it for my quad (my remote control works with 2,4 GHz, so it will not like WiFi ;)
but for other projects it could be interesting. The price (49 €) seems OK.
It's really for a low bandwidth sensor network. The MRF24WB is a complete 802.11 implementation. They stuck a low end microcontroller on it for user programs.
