More mindblowing stuff from the U-Penn swarming quad team

Sure, it's all controlled by a Vicon system that nobody but a big university lab can afford, but look at the lights! Gorgeous robotic choreography from the U-Penn GRASP Lab team, shown at Cannes. 16 quads with mirrors and LED displays. It really takes off around 2:30.

Almost as good as what the unemployed masses did a year ago, with a lot less money.

What a waste of time!

Surely they should have concentrated their efforts on more useful things like making an actual physical game of Space Invaders!

Nice visuals, also nice to see that even with the Vicon system they are not *perfect*.

Now turn off the external tracking system and lets start to add swarm code to the APM 3.0 code base! hehe

Congrats to the team for programming such show. Now get back to work, fun is over! ;)

I was thinking the same thing Dany.  The beams of light betray the fact that their loiter isn't perfect.  Obviously it's REALLY good, but not perfect.

This 30 second preview clip shows some details about how they are getting this done:

These are exciting times...
