basically those are same camera, Flytron just removed metal case from it to make it lighter. They are normal CCD speed dome cameras with minor modifications to suit better on FPV use etc. And yeah you really need to have good antivibration mount for those or picture is blurred.

Yes, Flytron is also selling a nice zoom camera, but not the same model.

    Jesse ,

how do you trigger in air, any mods?

The above said model looks like one of those sony box camera for cctv operation and you can find it in ebay too time to time. I bought one few years back but yet to  use lacking interface & time to home brew one :(.

  • Looking at my new Lumix TZ40 I was thinking the same thing Jesse. I wonder....

  • Not sure about weight, but my new point-and-shoot Nikon S9500 has got an amazing 22x optical zoom, HD video & 18 Megapixel res. It's got image stabilization for smooth-and-steady zooming, even at 22x zoom. Plus built-in GPS and Wifi. Check it out, Costco sells them.

  • must have a platform with a stabilization system, to use the zoom.
    this is my experience

  • This does provide a great opportunity for FPV.

Although 10X on a flying platform is hard to get steady enough to use.

I'd like one with fixed digital 1x, 2x and 3x and given modern CCD sizes that should be easy at zero loss.

Kind of like Zoom on GoPro Black works.
