Canada Drones at the Montreal Maker Faire 2012

Mark your calendars for August 25-26 in beautiful Montreal City!

Canada Drones is proud to let you know that we will be sponsoring the Montreal Maker Faire 2012.

We will have a booth there with the 3DRobotics and jDrones products on display.  People will be able to interact with the gear in a safe way (no Lipo connected on display items).

We are still trying to figure out if there will be a way to do some flight demo but safety is paramount and we will only do so if the organisation is giving us the green light.

People interested to come I will have some free tickets, let me know!

Also if you are interested to come show your setup that would be great, I will have a spot for you!

This will be fun!

Cool.  I'd love to go, just penciled it into my calendar.  If I can go I can bring my helis if you want.  Is this in the big-Zero?  If so, many you could fly a small airplane in there!  I wonder if GPS can get through the roof... or... does teh roof still exist?  I can't keep up with the status.

It's an outside event... the organization is trying to find a nice and secure place for us to fly... you are welcome with you Heli but maybe you will not fly it.. I can leave it on display. Or you can send me high resolution pictures of it and I can print it for people to see it.

Let me know if you need a ticket.

Oh, outside, even better.  Unless it rains.  Yeah, no way I would fly the big heli anywhere near people.  The little one, maybe, depending on the location.  I've been thinking about getting a mini-skywalker or something like that.  If so, we could definitely fly that around.  It would be fairly safe.  Would just want to make sure they have insurance. But we're talking about a ~3lb foam aircraft with a pusher prop, so fairly safe.

How many tickets do you have?  I'm 90% there, can you just hold 1 for me?

I can also bring a Rover, no problem.

I get 20 tickets but I don't know yet if I need them for myself and people helping me out...

Details are not all confirmed... but so far I have Ellison, Robert and David (Dwgsparky) so you are fine for sure!

Montreal Mini Maker Faire will be held at the Olympic Stadium in section 300 of the Esplanade Sun Life Financial.

Monroe, I will take a lot of photo for sure!  And I am sure we will find a nice spot to fly, it may not be during the Maker Faire hours but we will find time.  I will bring LIPO charger and tons of gear.

And I think we will have a blast!  BTW if you get these CNC plates done on time and shipped in Ontario I could bring one to Ellison there!  hehe  no pressure!

Oh, so it's really small then?  Is there something else going on at the same time?

I haven't been to Montreal in... holy cow it must be like 8 years or something!  This is as good a reason as any!

Looks like there's a big Maker Faire in NY in late September. I wonder if there will be a 3DR/DIYD presence?

It's probably good that they're not holding it IN the big-Zero.  No hard hats required.  :p
