As is customary and traditional, we celebrate every new 1,000 members here and share the traffic stats. This time it's 34,000!
There were 1.95 million page views this month, which is a new record (we get over 70,000 page views a day). It took us just 21 days to get this latest 1,000 members--we're averaging about one new member every 30 minutes.
Thanks as always to all the community members who make this growth possible, and especially the moderators who approve membership applications and blog posts and otherwise answer questions and keep things ticking here. We've got about 65 moderators now, but if anyone would like to join this group, please PM me. If you've been here for a while and have been participating, you'll fit in great.

Eric, do you mean eliminate users who registered more than once? I don't think there are many of those -- among other things the system doesn't let you use the same email address twice.

I posted this idea in the Canada Section and then saw EXACTLY the same idea
presented on this page. Would it be possible to have a "live graph" of the growth
of the Canada Section and make it a feature on the Home Page? All we need are
the dates of the 63 (so far) members who have signed-up to the Canada Section.
I believe the spike that “Harry” and "Joshua" are talking about will start in February, 2013.

Yeah I am not much of a google+ person. I blocked third party cookies on my browser (as in cookies created by third parties of the site you are on) and all of a sudden I no longer can log into Google... they use third party cookies to tie all of your information together into a single thread/session.. especially things like Google Analytics (pictured above).. so instead of generic usage data analytics knows exactly who is hitting the site since the third party cookie would have access.
Not to sound like a crazy person.. I just don't like Google making me the product.. since nothing in this world comes for free.. and if its free to you then YOU are the product.
I Predict February is going to Diydrones.com's busiest month ever! 1000 New members in record time for 35,000 Member Blog.
There is the Google + Community (heading to its first 1000 folks) if you want social push and don't forget the Twitter feed @DIYdrones
I predict a spike in page views in late March, early April.
You guys should have a social media presence if not to just to push out content... right now your site is passive in a lot of respects.. it seems like there should be 3DR postings that also post out through a facebook feed and such. There is quite a following that would passively watch / read stuff from diydrones if it was stuff that showed up in their news feeds and such.. instead of requiring them to visit the site often to figure out what all is going on.
awesome... I really enjoy being able to read up on my drone news on my smartphone. I think the site works rather well in organization and functionalty... keep up the great work.
