Video link below:  (and yes it's in French...)

Radio Canada / Decouverte - Drones are in Canada

They scare a bit the audience but they do a fair job informing too.  From military / civil and hobby drones they cast the net wide. They also explain the good side for saving lives, detecting forest fires and more.

Good job Radio Canada (Just wish they had contacted me for an interview! hehehe)

  • We give 1g$ every year to the Communist Broadcasting Corporation and they still dare to block content.

Maybe this URL works but I don't believe it ... http://www.tou.tv/decouverte/S2012E20

  • I can't believe that Dany, I would have thought it was fairly wide open.  It's a publicly funded service, modelled after the BBC which is wide open. Weird.

Sorry rest of the world... I did not know Radio Canada content was so restricted... :(

  • I can't watch it in France :(

  • Just a video. I can't read French but Google translate showed me that Video can not be viewed from my Country. Tried to use proxies, cleaned-up cookies - nothing worked.

Is is the entire site or just the video?  is the error specific about your location not Canadian?

This is the direct link to the video (but it plays in a proprietary player...)

  • Does not show the video for US audience, bummer!

The last part of the documentary is around how to avoid air collision....

Pretty neat stuff that they are planning to use a commercial grade transponder on civilian drones to ensure they are visible for air traffic control and commercial planes... they already shrink it down to a decent size but still need it smaller for a small/medium quadcopter.  Also I hope this gets affordable.  Well they still have 7 years to perfect it before the 2020 Transport Canada rule enforcement thing... :)

  • Thank you, I forgot to watch it !
