  • It's really for a low bandwidth sensor network.  The MRF24WB is a complete 802.11 implementation.  They stuck a low end microcontroller on it for user programs.

    Will not use it for my quad (my remote control works with 2,4 GHz, so it will not like WiFi ;)

    but for other projects it could be interesting. The price (49 €) seems OK.

  • By the way, realized my comment was a bit curt... This thing is cool.  I wish that there were better options out there for emulating non-IP traffic over WiFi (just i2c or serial, or if I can dream servo pulses) for a low price.

  • That seems really expensive.  I tend to shy away from anybody other than Atheros or Broadcom for Wifi chips though, if possible.  They are really the only ones who offer reasonable driver and developer support.
