seems to be a growing trend amongst this type of semi rtr to put compass and gps in the same box. does anyone know why?

Suitable for fixed wing and dirigibles at the moment. I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks like 5ch in and 5 out (their site won't deliver me the manual at the moment). I regularly pilot quads with other FY products and their stuff runs solid. I wonder if this more complex project runs just as well.

Not everyone's focus is on building the AP system. Some folks might use the info in this post because their concentration is on platform integration or photography or ???.
My point is regardless if you and I don't like the product, by definition the post is "News" which is of interest to our community.
Some of you may not remember but I believe that "HOOKS" was the one that introduced the community to the Skywalker platform, which is widely accepted. He's got a good eye for new stuff. This product could be great.

The FY3ZT autopilot also runs solid as well as the more FPV item FY21AP. The FY91Q never made me happy in performance. Now using the Dji-M - totally other story in performance ;-)
The best thing about FY31AP is that you can now finetune all parameters with the GCS software - Before you could only adjust the gain. This option makes it possible to tune the autopilot so it's performance are great for all platforms.
It's a great system for starters and people who want an Autopilot with waypoint navigation without any needs programming and so on.
It's still perfect for your DIY drone project as you build everything your self. Still the best PnP autopilot for the buck.

Brian: exactly
I'm not forcing any people to buy anything, this is just a post of interest. I'm sure some people would have more use of a PnP system and other would have better use of the more complex Ardupilot.
@Hooks,
This is not Fairplay, to Kill my answer to your Post :)
Where, and who is the regulator ?

Wilfrid: Then it's time for you to play fair.

Comment by Tim - Arduino for Visual Studio on November 24, 2011 at 1:14pm it gives a comparison of a small package by a commercial team v's larger more flexible package by a community and allows us to have a more informed price/functionality perspective. i'm sure it won't be diy enough for many :)
Execpt for the 8 WP max, it sounds really nice, and at a very interesting price tag.
Is it me or the leaflet translation is awful?
How can they make so huge engineering effort, and not hiring so with proper english knowledge?
(BTW: I'm not eng native speaker, and I do make lang mistakes.)
