GE's new advertising campaign is called "Air Show" and it consists of printing user-submitted model airplane designs on a Makerbot 3D printer. They're one of us!
It's also kinda adorable.

@Jack Crossfire- Nope, DIYDrones didn't invent Makerbot's "Thing-o-matic" - though I am sure they are MB superfans. The Makerbot was invented by a 3 man team in NY (one of the members, Zach Smith, came out of the RepRap project). The relevant Wikipedia page has a nice historical overview: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MakerBot_Industries.
@Jack - took the words right out of my mouth!
DIYdrones invented the makerbot?
I've also got a desktop CNC. I went with the MyDIYCNC, which is cheap and can use a Dremel tool. Definitely not a pro machine shop device, but perfect for small jobs.

This video makes GE look like some interesting little hobbyist company. I wonder how many of your tax dollars went into making this commercial.
