Looks like it may also be worth a look, for a around £100 these have a much larger range, although slightly over kill for need to stay within visual line of sight.

Also for the UK and EU this would be worth looking at for Telemetry

Love it! That's what open source is all about--other people finding uses, applications and packaging forms you hadn't thought of. Good on 'em.
