Ouch! I wonder if it was just too much wind, or if they didn't get climb rate -- usually those payloads go up smartly after launch.

Yeah and larger ones at that as well Mike, I'm wondering if the balloon was filled enough. Top ballooning tip though, never park downwind of a launching balloon!

Balloon worked fine. They were turning the crane when a hold-down cable broke. Next time install a remote controlled quick release.
