Hobbyuav.com gets revamped, actual store and techpod production unit close ups

so here is the latest news concerning the techpod:

   Got the production unit in.

You can see more at the newly revamped hobbyuav.com. Also we now have an actual online store with paypal and credit card payment options and international shipping as well. Check out the full gallery for more picteres of the different parts.

i am very impressed with the quality. The tops of the wings are glass smooth, the bottoms have only minimal bumps from the steam vents used in the molding process.. Every thing fits well and everything seems plenty stiff to withstand sudden maneuvers.

Thanks guys!

I can't wait for mine.  Are you putting together a build manual?  I know you have a recommended power setup, servos, etc...

Nice work!

Wayne, I can't remember....do the wings easily break down for transport?

What about the elevator?

Wayne,

My apologies if this is a stupid question, but how well will this fly in the wind?  What would say is the maximum wind you would feel safe flying in?

I ask because I took my finwing penguin out yesterday and in 25+ mph winds and it was almost impossible to fly.  I'm used to flying 700 size helicopters, so normally that much wind is just something to note and wouldn't stop me from flying.

I'm eagerly waiting for this one but I most say the price is a bit high. If I have to import it to Brazil it will become too expensive. In April I'll be in USA and by then I'll see if I buy one.

John,

the wings come off easy, just needs a allen wrench. The default configuration is with a permanently mounted horizontal stab. However It would not take to much to make it removable,

josh,

The techpod is  both powerful and slick  so high winds aren't a problem. I have had it out in 15 to 20 mph stuff and it was not a problem.

Adilson,

I would like to find a south american distributor to help get the cost down for that part of the world.

-thanks guys
