That's cool. You could probably do the same thing with a unicycle.

Wonder how an APM 2.5 with 2.8.1 would perform "out of the box" (with minimal pid adjusted for small frame)...
this is nicely done to "pre test" before actual flights.. anyone wants to design a bigger platform and limit the code so the copter can only bounce and not lift off? this would save a lot of beginner crashes while having fun.
But this needs a prop bumper as it seems quite dangerous rolling around!

In this case the transition from self stabilizing because of its wide wheels and the state where it would top over if no AP/props were used.
But i agree, the turns and balancing the tube are more impressive than straight forward driving.
Great idea and video over-all! I am thinking of building one myself as a (simple) example of tuning for others.

Now that gives really a new meaning for word Hoverbike :)
