New fiberglass UAV airframe coming to HobbyKing

3689384475?profile=originalNo product listing yet, but will be on HobbyKing.com later this week according to HobbyKing. Will be intersting to compare with the EPP foam one that I just got (see below), which seems perfect. Smaller than a Skywalker, but still plenty of room for UAV gear. The fuselage is a bit thin, but it fits APM perfectly!

I my experience fiberglass airframes all have a weak point that breaks. I will bet you a beer that this will break where the tail joins the body. I like this airframe but the first thing I would do is run carbon fiber table along the entire length along the bottom of the airframe and then around all the hatches

Thanks by the info, Johan! ;)

Looks like your PC is kidding you again.

  • That's a tidy looking plane, and it certainly looks like it has a lot of spare space in it for extra hardware. Do they have a price up yet? Will it be available in the EU, or just the UK?

  • Chris, please please please make an extensive revue of the EPP FPV Plane from HK. I am very interested in that one for bash-around and testing reasons.

Chris, those fiberglass planes, are they crash resistant?
I mean a reasonable factor, like good quality EPPs.
They are so neatly finished. However they seems to be fragile.
