Makani is one of the wind-power companies that have been working on using tethered UAVs as electricity-producing kites. They've had lots of challenges and it's still not clear whether utilities will embrace this model, but it is a very cool use of aerial robotic technology.

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.
