Posted right after a video from a private company designing a police-style drone and showing it carrying tear-gas under wing. 

As usual, it is hard to discern satire from reality. 

Or to put it another way: This site is going to face some real challenges keeping the pledge against weaponization, the discussion of weaponization and images of weaponization off the site. 

The use of drones by police will make it a difficult subject. Are police "militarized" use? They sure look that way during some protests in the US recently.

We have it on very good authority at sUAS News that the FAA has been told to slow down on the integration effort because people in high places believe all this talk of privacy is bad news for an election year.....

Patrick mentions it in our latest podcast about driverless cars, see what I did there ;-)

Interesting that the cartoonist used at least four real platforms in that cartoon.

Maxime, they don't say.  But by the fact that no other people in the Star Trek universe ever wears head gear like that I always assumed that it was some kind of android/drone.

Joking aside, the point of the comic is that police tend to assume all of the authority they can until the courts stop them.

Sure, most police were probably bullies when they were younger.  But on the other hand, if they weren't upholding the law, they'd probably be breaking it.
