Successful APM2 Navigation Test!

Success! The APM flew the Shrike through it's navigation test perfectly. In addition, we flew it during a VERY windy day (over 20 mph) and stabilize also performed flawlessly.

Awesome platform guys!

We're adding FPV next and will start doing additional flights & testing starting next week.

See you Saturday,

-Trent & Nick

  • Great stuff guys!

You are always dressed up like you just came from Church, my flying is shorts and a t shirt.

Nice work as usual guys. If you would prefer to use the external GPS, you can get an APM2 w/o the GPS. Or you might cut some of the traces on the daughterboard you have. Both the external and attached GPS uses the same TTY/serial port, and you want to avoid having both operating at the same time. I haven't looked at the implications of cutting the traces or removing the GPS unit from the daughterboard, but there should be a way to pull it off without issues. You might also look into tacking on a battery to the GPS unit (internal or external) as this will keep your almanac stored, which will dramatically reduced the time to fix. Did you get your questions answered about what happens at the end of a mission script? If you want it to loop, take a close look at some of the commands. Keep the videos coming.

  • Great job guys.

Keep up the good work. Love the show.
