and a demo of Failsafe with a Turnigy 9x / FrSky module.  Binding the failsafe to "land" and then switching off the Tx.

Very nice.  Stock PIDs?  What are the specs on that hexa?

can you explain the failsafe procedure?  Did you also update the PPM encoder firmware?

Full build log and specs of the Hexacopter:

Yes all the PIDs were stock.

Regarding failsafe: The FrSky receiver has simply been programmed to switch the mode to LAND and throttle to 30% for the case the radio signal is lost. Was nice to see that the remote could be turned off and the hexacopter just initiated a gentle and controlled decent.

The PPM encoding firmware has not been modified. IMHO there are 2000 things that can go wrong before the throttle wire might get disconnected (also I might still be able to throw it into LAND mode). But we will try the single wire CPPM/SPPM connection between the FrSky receiver and the APM2 soon.

If you dont mind posting more details on how you programmed the FrSky module I am sure it will be appreciated as many are using it too.

Not much to "program" ;)

1) You hold the sticks and switches in the position that you want for failsafe.

2) Push the FS button on the receiver

3) Done

Test by turning the transmitter off and watch the radio input / mode change on Planner UI.
