  • The really cool thing, is that this kit will give you both options!

    @bill

    I mean besides coaxial stability, natural vibration dampening and a control/correction axis that lies basically right on the cg/apm. Not to mention the cool factor, agility, natural gyroscopic stability, concise orientation control, and structural/aerodynamic redundancy.

    The list is massive, there is absolutely no reason to build a conventional hex.

  • Bill,
    A Y6 has three fewer arms and thus less weight. The wider arm spread also gives a more unubstructed camera view. There is also another big advantage which we will be demonstrating next!

    @OG: you cou could just change the word drone for any of the following in your statement. airplane, helicopter, boat, submarine etc... That are all used in the study of the planet. The word drone is harmless. People kill people. As the domestic use of drones will increase, the media fear will subside.

    Back on topic. What's the advantages of a Y-frame Hex over a normal hex. Other than interference from the legs in the camera shot?
  • 3DR Y6 hexa!

  • Michael,

    Concrete and shadows, sounds like a great title for a book or an album.

  • concrete?

    shadows?

  • @Joseph, Yeah I refer to them as Flying Robots when I'm talking to people who are inexperienced but definitely still use "Drone" when I'm speaking to someone who is knowledgeable in Robotics or Aviation.

  • I prefer to call them flying robots!
