Tricopter Backflip and other fails - Flesh Pilot stubby Tricopter

Some random clips from the past few weeks. My first attempt at a backflip failed miserably. Not sure if I need to change something in the APM settings. I had it in acro but when I pulled back and cut the throttle in wouldn't go past vertical. I'm taking suggestions. Then flying and crashing around the house using the new stubby tricopter. This thing is by far my favorite multicopter. I've crashed this thing so many times and so far it's bullet proof.

The past weeks have been full of new adventures. I started at a new tattoo shop called BJP in South Hill Mall in Puyallup Washington. That's right a tattoo shop in a mall. Different but cool. On my second week I hit a deer on the way to work. Actually a deer hit me at 50 mph, bounced off my left front fender, ripped off my mirror and pooped on my back door. So now I'm in the process of painting my car camouflage after banging all the dents out. My theory is that deer don't run into trees. So if I look like a tree they'll avoid me. Really I just want a camo geo metro but I'm using the deer as an excuse. The cars name is now "Hunter" and yes it's a geo metro. I picked it up a few weeks ago off craiglist because my current commute is 160 miles a day round trip and a gallon of gas costs as much as a kidney. Yeah the commute sucks, but the job is rad.

If you live in the area and want to get a tattoo hit me up.

Nice pilot skills. Can you show details of your GPS mount ? It looks original.

Back flips aren't possible in stabilized acro on the APM yet. We are currently working on a new ACRO that should do everything that people want to see :)

Thanks @hugues it's just a paper towel roll wrapped in vinyl.

@Leonardthall Someone recommended I disable the stabilization in ACRO MODE by AXIS_ENABLE = 0. I'm about to go try it. Does this sound right to you?

Yes but it isn't nice to fly.

Hey Jake,

I have put the new ACRO code here for testing. So have a look at it if you like but be careful as this is a pre beta release!

Thank you Leonard!  I haven't had time to try it out yet. Hoping for tomorrow. :)
