Happy New Year!

I spent the day looking for my Mini650 Hexacopter with APM 2.0 on board....it was flying away under manual control and I kept trying to make it fly back to me but it flew atleast 1KM away....It is very difficult to tell what the actual distance was when I had to shut the motors down..... I have spent the last three days looking for it.  Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.  I didn't have return to home, or any other features enabled as I don't know how to do that without a 5 or 6 position switch...Full setup was turnighy 2830 NTM motors, turnigy plush Esc.'s, Mini650 frame, zippy 5000 mah battery, plus all the xtras...Anyone have an xtra APM 2.0 that you aren't using?
