Hi all, this is my first post here.
For all of you who understand the German language, here is a video of a TV show which I watched this evening.
The topic is Electric Mobility and the first part of the show is about the world's first manned multicopter, which they call "Volokopter".

Comment by Jack Crossfire on July 31, 2012 at 6:05pm Someone in Ohio tried & failed to raise enough investment money to do it. He called me before either losing the money or finding someone else. Fortunately, the investment money exists in Germany.

I've already seen 3 different videos of manned multicopters on youtube, which would mean this isn't the first manned multicopter.

This was posted on DIYDrones in August last year

Like to see what happens when he gets the flip of death.
Comment by Robert Pigeon on July 31, 2012 at 10:16pm Looks like the e-volo one to me. I think I even see the ball. But I would not be the first time I've been wrong.
Yup thats the volocopter VC1. I got to see the newer VC2 version in person as well as meet the german designer and pilot at Oshkosh on Friday. I see how having many motors could make a safer system incase there are failures however, I personally don't think batteries exist quite yet with enough energy density to make this an efficient means off manned flight. This is not to say I don't wish them success tho!
Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.47 members
