Xaircraft X650 V-8 Maiden Flight (Trial & Error...)

Quick video of my newest bird, an Xaircraft X-650 V-8 featuring all new flight controller and AHRS V.2.  I didn't realize I was in Acro mode in the beginning as seen in the video but figured it out eventually.  Must have been some English/Chinese translation issue or maybe just the fact that I didn't read the manual :)

Anyway, enjoy the video

Are you using all Xaircraft parts?  Can you provide a parts list?  Their flight controller seems to be all divided in to modules.  There's a flight controller, which controls the motors, and a AHRS module for stabilization, and a separate compass module...

And what's this UltraPWM?  Is it really compatible with standard RC equipment?

I purchased the basic kit with no extras.  I plan on adding the new GPS Alt hold and RTH that they just came out with.  All you need is a radio and battery and you're in the air.  If you want heading or Alt hold, then you add the modules you want.  You are correct that the unit comes with a Flight controller which is basically where all the in's and out's connect and then there is a "AHRS" or Altitude Heading Reference System module that plugs into the flight controller.  The flight controller also supports 3 axis camera gimbals and additional modules.

Hope this helps.

So where did you buy the kit from, Adam?

I have had the X-8 with V2 hardware for a little while also. Good quality and great performance for the price. The configuration software is very straight forward. The stabilized roll&tilt mount for a GoPro/compact camera also works very well, and has geared servos for really smooth movements. Just make sure you get V2 hardware. There seems to be a lot of problems with the first generation.

Highly recommended as a starting point for getting into areal photography and filming.
