Yep, thats me! My goodness, that is a lifetime ago I still remember when we stayed in the hostel and you went to do your radio amateur exam in JHB, in town, that evening! That is all a very longtime ago.
How are you? I have moved to Namibia , 5years ago, had enough of Gauteng and everything else - was with ATE for the last 18 years or so. Now live next to the sea, in a quiet and peacefull place, playing UAV's...
Very nice to hear from you. Maybe we can make a sked on HF, if you are still into that!
Keep well. Kind Regards Joe ________________________________________
Well, as least you are out of Gauteng, but you left early on anyway - good that you never came back! I was with a commercial company for about 2 years after Atlas, then went to Andromeda, doing BIT Slice processor copies of VAX computers, then went to ATE, did Rooivalk mission and weapons systems, Pilatus trainer avionics, lots of UAV work, big stuff - 160kg plus, etc, etc, and left them 5 years ago. Now I am having fun! Also busy now with a big quadrotor, own design, using helicopter blades 750mm diameter X 4. Hope to carry a 2kg camera for 1 hour...
Well, I hope if you 'die' there it is in the far distant future!
Have seen you guys and Big Bertha, etc. I did something similar with a Lanyu 100 - check on DIYDrones blog for Nampilot and HORNBILL - also GUPPY and SurVoyeur, our latest commercial product - having far to much fun for two people out here in Swakop!.
Season Two of theTrust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.

Hi again Gustav,
Have seen you guys and Big Bertha, etc. I did something similar with a Lanyu 100 - check on DIYDrones blog for Nampilot and HORNBILL - also GUPPY and SurVoyeur, our latest commercial product - having far to much fun for two people out here in Swakop!.
How things going?>>

Hi Joe,
So envious of your successes !
Big Bertha has been mothballed, the client realized that they required a certain proficiency with operating RC equipment, that they did not have.
I don't get much chance to RC here lately, other interests, work, the weather, all conspires against me !
I've looked at your website, very impressive.
Hey, here is my X8 File.
