Oh man thanks for the vids, Those were exactly what I was talking about with my quad copter experiment. I dont know if it was a motor that failed or what but she flipped when hitting the outside thermals of a controlled burn and crashed. Basically I kinda shifted gears from a quad back to what I know in a traditional heli. I was flying it manually using a KK controller. My captain has been experimenting with a Parrot drone and keeps going through motors because it flips on him after fast forward flight.
One of the reasons I am starting off with a 450 clone is that I can get the airframes for about $8 each with $5 for a set of blades on Leadershobby so I buy about 5 at a time and when I need parts I can either used a new chassis or just grab the replacement parts. Since I am not flying 3D the composite rotor heads seem to work fine for me. they just dont survive crashes like the aluminum heads on my 250.
