well not to sure what you are asking re the use of foam - The wings on GUPPY are CNC foam cut and then vacuum bagged with Fglass, as are the horizontal stabs and vertical stab/rudder. The fuselage is 'wood' and that is the BEST medium for the rough and tough bush work we do - you can repair it anywhere, anytime, with some bits of wood, Cyno, epoxy, etc. Nice molded fuz is glamorous, great to look at, costly to make, and does not add any value to performance in the hard environment we work in. So, Foam has its place for wings - to much work to make many ribs, etc, but fuz, use wood!
I would like to ask a simple question. How do I add my Youtube video that is show the video in a frame. I only manage to get the link paste. Please help.
It has been a while. I was a commercial pilot from 1969 -1996 from 87 to 94 I flew nearly every day of the year a member of the EAA for 2 years I was just getting into flying helicopters when I met my first wife (should have stuck with helicopters)1n the early 90,s my boys and I had several glow engine airplanes and a spirit glider . I have had lots of practice with broken balsa c/a and epoxy. I know what it is like to "assume the position"in the EAA I designed and was building a full scale motorized glider only to find out only certain planes are allowed to be built as home builds in Canada I got plans and starting building a 2 man Helicopter a Roto way Exec. only to find out there was a petition out to let them be flown in Canada by other members of the EAA who had finished them and had them in the garage and were not allowed to fly them .(I don,t know if they are allowed yet or not) I have had a realflight simulator on my computer for a year and a half great stuff the plane crashes just push the button it comes right back
my boys bought me a radian pro for my birthday it flies great we taped my sons i pod to it and got 6 minutes of video I live on a farm and there is a large bean field to fly it in the foam in the wings are starting to soften and if you pull up from a shallow dive they flex more than they should I have been looking around on the internet for a better air frame to put the radio and engine in and came across diy drones and signed up I might just scratch build my own drone .I am not familiar with the current rules . Thank you .funny thing I ran into my my ex wife at walmart she heard I was flying again and wanted to know if I would take her for a ride!
I hadn't really thought about it, or even if should pursue it in blog format. I'm more then happy just helping out here and there. Are you thinking like a photo walk through for the windows 8 issue or??

Crap, I'm new to this forum. How can I get a message like: "This has been hashed to death, and we feel that by getting the message out about what happened that the danger of something untoward has been prevented. If a moderator can lock this post, so it doesn't provoke any more debate, I'd appreciate it."

Maybe you would be happier dealing with Hobby King instead of 3DR?
