dj - The Sky Fly Max is a great plane.  It's super stable and can endure some harsh treatment.  I made a center section for the wings and expanded the wingspan by 11 inches.  I made the vertical stab out of balsa covered meat-tray foam.  I use monocoat film for foam planes to increase the strength.  The only bummer is getting the electronics installed w/out cutting stuff up.  I also replaced the motor and motor mount.  I fly in pretty windy conditions and it's always a blast.  You done any mods to yours?

This weekend I'll take some detailed pictures of my plane. I had to make one mod to the fuse (other than removing the stock motor mount, but that will be easily explained when I do the write up. So I have not modified anything to fit inside the plane, that area remains stock. I was implying that it could be a little tight w/more gear. I use the area where the "windscreen" would be and have made a removable platform for stuff.
